i don't know why, but it seems to be a common practice when sharing rips of these CDs on the internet to convert them to WAV. it's exceedingly difficult to find rips of the libraries in their original formats. the original collection on the internet archive had this problem too.lsq23 wrote: ↑January 18th, 2022, 10:03 am thank you for the phenomenal work that you have done here! it's unfortunate that I mistakenly deleted the original rip of the cyberyoukai upload that i had downloaded in its entirety from the internet archive a few weeks before it got taken down. I have been looking all over the net for the archive ever since and Im glad that I found a huge chunk of it here. I have run into a problem which I guess a lot of users here may be eligible to answer
The folder of converts has the original cds converted into wav files whilst preserving the original folder structure. is there a way to recompress/recombine it into the OG sampler format?
why?
I have an akai sampler that can read legacy formats. however, there's no way to tell my sampler the original mappings of the program/patch contained within the various banks/partitions. and the sample files are so huge in number that it's impractical to drag and drop/assign each file to a key in an editor.
thank you and god bless!
ideally, i'd like to have each library in WAV and in their original formats. eventually i will go digging for more of the original rips and upload what i can find.
if you really wanted to i think you can use CDXTRACT or ESC to convert them to the proper format for hardware samples, but you won't have anything to work with as far as loop points or mapping, you would have to do it yourself.
