it is time for comfy box to E X P A N D

but i do not know which server i should get.

our current server has an identical CPU, 16GB RAM, and 4x4TB of HDD storage.

tell me, do we care about being able to store even more shit? or do we care about faster downloads? either way, we will have more storage.

def go for the storage, i think that would be much better in the long run (especially if theres gonna be a lot of files on the server)
also i dont think the download speed really matters that much in the end lol, as long as you can download its fine :9owo:

i mean the forum is hosted on a smol little VPS and we are obviously not going to have to upgrade that anytime soon.

oh we are going to have ALL the files on the server :cheemsred:

my only reason for thinking about getting the higher bandwidth one was because i'll be ditching my seedbox when/if i upgrade the nnty.fun server because i am poor, but i still want something to seed my torrents on
right now there's still lots of space on the server, but that could change very quickly after i'm finished with some of the projects i'm working on (´・ω・`)

best to have two seperate servers for seperate things, if the seedbox needs that much bandwidth then its best to keep it off the site as to not slow down everything sitewide (ik its 10 Gbit but on the off chance this site gets more traction its best to keep speeds stable)
get more storage for the site and more bandwith for the seedbox (unless theres a good compromise of both ofc ^^)

this website itself won't be affected anyway. and the only two things on nnty.fun are my owncast instance and all of the juicy files that i host.
tbh i'm already using the server as a "seedbox" anyway, but just for the shit that i put here

my seedbox exists in some leaseweb datacenter in the netherlands, same with nnty.fun
i do seed the torrents that i create on everything though, home computer included
if you really want to help, you could seed the 90s sample cds torrent, but i do have to warn you that it could get out of hand real quick

lots of seedbox providers in the netherlands offer high-capacity dedicated servers for really cheap and i dont know why

the hardware you're getting is usually ancient, except for the hard drives. the hard drives in my new server are actually almost brand new
